Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LocalDraft AI ("we", "us", operated by VakilBarak) handles information in connection with the LocalDraft AI desktop application and the website at localdraft.vakilbarak.com (together, the "Service").

1. Offline by design

LocalDraft AI is an offline-first application. The AI runs entirely on your own computer. Your drafts, client details, documents and the content you generate never leave your device — there is no cloud database for your work, and no telemetry or usage tracking from within the app. Internet access is used only to download the application and to activate or renew your license. The one exception is the optional web drafting demo on our website, described in section 5 below — it is a hosted preview and is separate from the installed app.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to run purchases, licensing and support on the website:

  • Account information — your email address (and name, if provided) when you create an account or subscribe. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in plain text.
  • Payment information — processed securely by our payment gateway (Razorpay). We receive confirmation of payment and your email/name, but we do not store your card, UPI or bank details.
  • License records — the plan, issue and expiry dates, and the license key issued to your email.
  • Support communications — any details you send us when you contact us.

3. How we use information

  • To process your purchase and issue and renew your license.
  • To provide your account dashboard and let you manage or cancel your subscription.
  • To send you your license key and essential service emails.
  • To provide customer support and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Service providers

We share the limited information above only with providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed:

  • Razorpay — payment processing. See Razorpay's privacy policy at razorpay.com/privacy.
  • Secure cloud infrastructure — a third-party cloud provider that handles account authentication and stores your account and license data securely.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (e.g. your license key).
  • Google Gemini, OpenRouter and Groq — hosted AI providers used only to power the in-account drafting studio (see section 5). They are not involved in the installed app.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

5. Online drafting studio (in your account)

When you are signed in, your account includes an optional "drafting studio" at /account/try that lets you try the AI in your browser. Because your device isn't running the AI in this preview, it works differently from the installed app:

  • The text you type is sent to our server and forwarded to a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini, with OpenRouter and Groq as fallbacks) to generate a sample draft, then returned to you.
  • Please do not enter real client names or confidential details in the studio. It is a preview for evaluating the product, not a substitute for the private, offline app.
  • It is available only to signed-in accounts, with per-account daily limits to prevent abuse. We do not store the studio prompts to build a profile of you, and studio content is not used to train our own models.
  • The studio is a website feature only. The downloadable desktop and mobile apps do not use these providers and continue to run the AI entirely on your own device.

6. Data retention

We keep account, purchase and license records for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. You may request deletion of your account data as described below, subject to records we must retain by law.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the limited data we hold, including encrypted connections and secure, access-controlled infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
